the begining of sxsw

i love sxsw. i think it is a great place to meet other web designers from all over the country (and sometimes the world). ideas, concepts, examples and talk are the reason that sxsw is so great.
this being my third year, has me excited. i am a regular now. people remember my name without my nametag (like it is hard to remember dickwood). i am able to expand my "friends" group each year.
however, this year i seem to be disappointed and the conference has not even started officially yet. in a pre-conference panel, we were plagued with cell phones ringing, photographers getting right up in the panelist faces and poorly defined session descriptions. also, the annual kick! game did not happen.
even though i am having this rough start, i am not going to let it affect me completely. i am going to try the panels unplugged (sans-laptop). we will see how that goes.
